Dustin Duncan
Weyburn-Big Muddy
MLA Weyburn-Big Muddy Dustin Duncan first ran for a seat in the provincial legislature largely for two reasons: to give back to a community and area that had provided he and his wife Amanda with so much, and to help make Saskatchewan a better place for young people. Elected in the June 2006 by-election at the age of 26, Dustin served on the Crown and Central Agencies committee and on several caucus committees. During his first year as a member of the Saskatchewan Party Caucus, he served as Opposition critic for Youth Opportunities and Immigration. Mr. Duncan was re-elected to the legislature in the 2007 provincial election. Premier Brad Wall has asked Mr. Duncan to serve as the Legislature's Chair of the Standing Committee on Crown and Central Agencies. Mr. Duncan also serves as Chair of the caucus' Standing Policy Committee on Crowns and Central Agencies. Raised in Halbrite, Mr. Duncan is a graduate of the Weyburn Comprehensive School and has a B.A. in History from the University of Regina. He has also completed the Canadian Securities Course. Prior to being elected in Weyburn Big-Muddy, Mr. Duncan worked in both the private and public sector, in the Official Opposition Caucus and for the provincial Department of Health. |
