MLA Last Mountain-Touchwood

Glen Hart's life has been driven by the desire to improve and promote his community and his province.

Glen was born and raised in Cupar, Saskatchewan.  He attended the University of Saskatchewan where he received a degree in Agricultural Economics.  Upon graduating from university, Mr. Hart worked for both the provincial and federal government in a number of management positions.  Mr. Hart has been an active member of his community including Councilor for the R.M. of Cupar and Director for the Cupar Co-operative Association.  As well, Mr. Hart has held leadership roles in several other community organizations, including the Loon Creek Marketing Club, Cupar Minor Hockey Association, Cupar Rink Building Committee and R.M. Ag Committee.

Mr. Hart was first elected to represent the Last Mountain-Touchwood constituency for the Saskatchewan Party in 1999.  He was re-elected in 2003 and again in 2007.  During his two terms in opposition, Mr. Hart's Shadow Cabinet duties included Post Secondary Education, Highways and Transportation, Environment, Labour, Deputy for Aboriginal Affairs and Deputy for Culture, Youth and Recreation.  After the Saskatchewan Party formed government in November 2007, Premier Brad Wall asked Mr. Hart to serve as the Chair of the Legislature's Standing Committee on Human Services.  Mr. Hart is also currently the chair of the caucus' Standing Policy Committee on Human Services and is also a member of the legislature's committee of the Board of Internal Economy.

Mr. Hart and his wife Marlene have four children and eight grandchildren.  They operate the family farm along with one of their sons. They grow pulses, oilseeds, and cereal crops along with a cow-calf operation.
