MLA Saskatoon Silver Springs

Ken Cheveldayoff is a 42 year-old entrepreneur with a history of leadership, public service and community involvement. He grew up in Blaine Lake, Saskatchewan and has been a resident of northeast Saskatoon for nearly two decades.

Mr. Cheveldayoff attended Carleton University in Ottawa, the University of Saskatchewan and Newport University in Southern California, receiving a B.A. (Honours) in Economics and Political Science in 1988 and a Masters of Business Administration in 1996.

Mr. Cheveldayoff received several scholarships and awards including being chosen as a Parliamentary Page in the House of Commons and winning the prestigious Queen Elizabeth II scholarship for excellence in Parliamentary Studies. Mr. Cheveldayoff also excelled in athletics at the provincial and national levels in track and field, and was a member of the Saskatoon Hilltops and the University of Saskatchewan Huskies Football teams.

Prior to being elected in 2003 as the MLA for Saskatoon Silver Springs, Mr. Cheveldayoff worked with Western Economic Diversification as a senior business advisor helping individual businesses and industries to grow and expand. Mr. Cheveldayoff has also been an entrepreneur all his life. He is the majority shareholder in a real estate company that is involved in operating and developing major Saskatoon properties.

Mr. Cheveldayoff's long history of community involvement and volunteerism includes working with the Saskatoon 2007 World University Games Bid Committee and the Citizens for a North East Collegiate. He has been involved with the Terry Fox Run, Children's Health Foundation, Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce, North Saskatoon Business Association, Provincial Exporters Association and he is a member of the Erindale-Arbor Creek Community Association and Lakeview Free Methodist Church. He was re-elected in 2007.

Mr. Cheveldayoff is currently a member of the caucus' Standing Policy Committee on Crowns and Central Agencies.

Mr. Cheveldayoff and his wife Trish Cheveldayoff, a professional television broadcaster, have two children, Carter and Paige.
