MLA Regina Qu'Appelle Valley

After years of working in Regina as a businessperson and community volunteer, Laura Ross is now serving Regina as the MLA for Regina Qu'Appelle Valley.

As well as being an energetic community volunteer, Ms. Ross is a successful realtor who holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Regina. She and her husband Terry, a university instructor, have one son, Jon.

Ms. Ross' many volunteer activities include being Chair of the Board of Directors for Regina Pioneer Village, where she serves as a strong voice for seniors. Moreover, since women's issues are especially near and dear to her heart, Ms. Ross has worked for many years with the Saskatchewan and Regina Councils of Women. She also helped to raise over $10,000 for the Regina Therapeutic Riding Association, benefiting people with disabilities, and volunteers with the Salvation Army and the Terry Fox Run too.

Ms. Ross was first elected as the MLA for Regina Qu'Appelle Valley in the 2007 provincial election. Following the formation of a Saskatchewan Party government, Premier Brad Wall asked Ms. Ross to serve as the Legislative Secretary to the Minister of Health, Nurse Recruitment and Retention. Ms. Ross sits on the caucus' Standing Policy Committee on the Economy, and is a member of two legislative committies: the Standing Committee on the Economy and the Private Bills House Committee.
