David Buckingham Acclaimed as 2024 Saskatchewan Party Candidate for Saskatoon Westview July 06, 2023

SASKATOON, SK  – Tonight, David Buckingham was acclaimed as the Saskatchewan Party candidate for Saskatoon Westview in the 2024 provincial election.

“I’m honoured to be representing Saskatoon Westview in the next provincial election” Buckingham said. “I want to thank all of my constituents for the continued support I’ve received over the past number of years.”

Buckingham was first elected as the MLA for Saskatoon Westview in the 2016 provincial election and was re-elected in 2020. He currently serves as the Government Caucus Chair as well as Legislative Secretary to the Minister responsible for SaskTel and SGI.

“The Saskatchewan Party has a record of growing our communities to create a better quality of life,” said Buckingham. “I look forward to continuing that success as we move towards the 2024 election and beyond.”

Buckingham moved to Saskatoon in 1979, before moving to Borden with his wife Karen in 1988. Before entering politics, Buckingham was a commercial truck driver for over 35 years. During that time, he served as councillor and mayor for the community of Borden.

Buckingham has been an active volunteer in his community. He served as a volunteer firefighter and was the co-founder of the Highway 16 Fire Commission, a group that was formed to regionalize and provide better training for volunteer firefighters in rural communities.

With Buckingham’s nomination, the Saskatchewan Party has now nominated 7 candidates for the 2024 provincial election.
