Darren Deschambeault
Cumberland
Darren Deschambeault is the Saskatchewan Party candidate for Cumberland.
Born and raised in Cumberland House, he is fluent in Cree and a person of proud indigenous heritage. He has lived in numerous communities in the far north of Saskatchewan, including La Ronge, Pelican Narrows, Sandy Bay, and Southend.
A graduate of the University of Regina, he has more than 25 years of experience as a communications and media relations professional with numerous successful companies, including APTN. He currently is employed as a Manager of Indigenous Communications with a well known aboriginal-owned company.
He is also actively involved in several community volunteer programs. For the past 20 years, he has helped organize, cooked meals, delivered care packages, and provided rides for the annual Prince Albert Community Christmas Day Dinner, as well as, served a hospital volunteer for indigenous elders in multiple communities.
Darren and his partner, Carole, have two kids.
