Gordon Wyant Acclaimed as 2024 Saskatchewan Party Candidate for Saskatoon Chief Mistawasis September 19, 2023

SASKATOON, SK – Tonight, Gordon Wyant was acclaimed as the Saskatchewan Party nominated candidate for Saskatoon Chief Mistawasis in the 2024 provincial election.

“Thank you to our party members in Saskatoon Chief Mistawasis for their support,” Wyant said. “It’s an honour to represent the Saskatchewan Party once again, as we continue to grow our province and build on all we’ve accomplished since 2007.”

Wyant was first elected MLA for Saskatoon Northwest in an October 2010 by-election. He was then re-elected in the 2011, 2016 and 2020 provincial elections.

Wyant is currently the Minister of Advanced Education and has previously served as Minister of Justice and Attorney General, Deputy Premier, Minister of Education, Minister responsible for SaskBuilds and Priority Saskatchewan as well as Minister responsible for SaskPower. He has also served as Deputy Government House Leader.

Wyant completed his Bachelor of Arts degrees with distinction in 1985 and graduated from the College of Law at the University of Saskatchewan in 1986. Before becoming an MLA, Wyant served as an active public servant. He was elected trustee for the Saskatoon Public School Board in 2000 and served as chair for 2 years. He was elected city councillor in Saskatoon, Ward 5 in 2003, 2006 and 2009.

Gordon and his wife Christine Hrudka live in Saskatoon and have four children.

With Wyant’s nomination, the Saskatchewan Party has nominated a total of 21 candidates for the next provincial election.
