Alana Ross Acclaimed as 2028 Saskatchewan Party Candidate for Prince Albert Northcote

PRINCE ALBERT, SK – Tonight, Alana Ross was acclaimed as the Saskatchewan Party nominated candidate for Prince Albert Northcote in the 2028 provincial election.

"Prince Albert is my home, and representing this community is the honour of my life," Ross said. "I will keep working hard every day to earn the trust and support of the people of Northcote."

Ross was first elected as the MLA for Prince Albert Northcote in 2020 and was re-elected in 2024. She currently serves as Minister of Parks, Culture and Sport, Minister responsible for the Status of Women, Minister responsible for Tourism Saskatchewan, and Minister responsible for Francophone Affairs. She has previously served as Minister responsible for the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority and as Legislative Secretary for the forestry sector.

Born and raised in the Prince Albert area, Ross earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Alberta while working full-time and raising her family. She worked in Saskatchewan's health care sector for more than 30 years as a front-line nurse, including 15 years as part of a management team, and also served as a unit union representative and a post-secondary instructor.

Ross has been an active volunteer and board member with several community organizations, including 4-H, the Prince Albert Exhibition Board, and the Prince Albert Rural School Division Board of Education. She served as the Saskatchewan Party constituency president for Prince Albert Northcote beginning in 2011.

Ross has three grown children and two grandsons, and continues to reside in Prince Albert Northcote.

With Ross' nomination, the Saskatchewan Party has now nominated 4 candidates for the 2028 provincial election.
