Corey Tochor to Run Again in Saskatoon Eastview

April 30, 2014

Saskatoon— MLA Corey Tochor will be nominated tonight as the Saskatchewan Party candidate in Saskatoon Eastview for the next provincial election.

“I want to say a huge thanks to the people of Saskatoon Eastview for their support,” Tochor said. “It’s been an honour to serve them in the Legislature.”

Tochor was first elected to the Saskatchewan Legislature in the 2011 provincial election.

Prior to entering politics, Tochor was a local Saskatoon entrepreneur who owned and operated Health Conveyance Inc., a communications company providing electronic messaging in health facilities across the province.

Tochor has been very active in his local community as past vice-president of the Kinsmen Club of Saskatoon and has volunteered on the corporate board for Telemiracle 33. He has also served as treasurer of the Kinsmen Activity Place House, which is a community center supporting Saskatoon’s inner city.

In May 2012, Premier Brad Wall appointed Corey as the Deputy Chair of Committees in the Legislative Assembly. He is a member of the Intergovernmental Affairs and Justice Standing Committee and Caucus Policy Committee, a member of the Public Accounts Committee and a member of the Private Bills House Committee. In February 2013, Corey was appointed as Vice-Chair of the New Ideas Committee.

Tochor feels that the government is making important investments to improve the quality of life for Saskatchewan people.

“Our government has provided record funding for health care to reduce surgical wait times, improve services for seniors and build health infrastructure,” Tochor said. “There’s still more work to do and we’re going to continue setting bold goals in health care and finding innovative ways to meet those goals and improve patient care.”

Tochor wants to keep moving Saskatchewan forward.

“My wife Danielle and I have a new son, Jacob,” Tochor said. “He inspires me to continue working to ensure that Saskatchewan is the best place to live, work and play in all of Canada.”

With Tochor’s nomination as the candidate for Saskatoon Eastview, the Saskatchewan Party has nominated 18 candidates for the next provincial election.
