YORKTON, SK – Tonight, David Chan won a contested nomination to be the Saskatchewan Party’s candidate for Yorkton in the 2024 provincial election. He defeated two other candidates.

“Thank you for your support tonight - this is a great honour,” Chan said. “I want to be a voice that reflects common sense concerns of local individuals and business owners in a way that protects our core values and brings strong growth to Yorkton and Saskatchewan.”

For the past 6 years Chan has worked as a mental health counsellor for local First Nations – primarily focusing on youth and families.

Chan has previously worked in Chile and the Middle East as a Project Manager on behalf of Thompson Rivers University, International Dept, and as a faculty member with Royal Roads University.

Chan has a B.Sc. in Math & Business from Thompson Rivers University, as well as an M.A. in Intercultural & International Communication from Royal Roads University. He also holds a TESL Certificate, (Teaching English as a Second Language), and is working towards a Diploma in Applied Psychology and Counselling.

As a volunteer Chan has been involved with Youth Groups, as a tutor for Indigenous youth, and as an English instructor. He has also coached senior boys’ basketball, was a volunteer residential care worker, and sat on a board for parents of children with special needs.

Chan resides in Yorkton with his wife and their two daughters.

The Saskatchewan Party has now nominated 39 candidates ahead of the 2024 provincial election.
