Don Morgan to be Nominated Sunday as Candidate for Saskatoon Southeast
April 11, 2014Saskatoon— MLA Don Morgan will be nominated Sunday as the Saskatchewan Party candidate in Saskatoon Southeast for the next provincial election.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of the Saskatchewan Party government,” Morgan said. “It is a great time to be in Saskatchewan and I look forward to continuing to be part of this government.”
Morgan was first elected to the Legislative Assembly in November 2003. He was re-elected in the 2007 and 2011 provincial elections.
“I want to thank my constituents for their continued support,” Morgan said. “I appreciate and count on their ideas and feedback.”
Morgan has served as the Minister of Advanced Education, Minister of Justice and Attorney General, the Minister of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety, and the Minister Responsible for the Saskatchewan Workers' Compensation Board.
In September 2013, Premier Brad Wall appointed Morgan as Minister of Education. He retained his roles as Minister responsible for Labour Relations and Workplace Safety and Minister Responsible for the Saskatchewan Workers' Compensation Board.
Morgan is proud of the Saskatchewan Party government’s record and is looking forward to continuing to serve the people of Saskatoon.
“Saskatoon is thriving and that’s why we’re building four new joint-use schools in Saskatoon, twinning a number of highways around the city and helping to fund a new commuter bridge,” Morgan said.
“Our government is also funding the province’s first children’s hospital, we helped build the Circle Drive South Bridge and increased Saskatoon’s municipal revenue sharing by 159 per cent. But there’s still more work to do.”
Morgan feels that Premier Brad Wall is an exceptional leader.
“The Premier has been a great colleague and an outstanding champion for the province of Saskatchewan on a provincial, national and international level,” Morgan said. “He continues to provide the type of effective and innovative leadership that will move Saskatchewan forward.”
With Morgan’s nomination as the candidate for Saskatoon Southeast, the Saskatchewan Party has nominated seven candidates for the next provincial election.
