Donna Harpauer to be Nominated Today as Candidate for Humboldt-Watrous

June 26, 2014

Humboldt - Humboldt MLA Donna Harpauer will be nominated for a 5th time this evening as the Saskatchewan Party candidate in Humboldt-Watrous for the next provincial election.

“It has been an honour to represent the people of the Humboldt constituency,” Harpauer said. “I’m looking forward to the opportunity to represent their issues going forward.”

Harpauer was first elected to the Legislature representing the former Watrous constituency in 1999, Donna was re-elected in the new Humboldt Constituency in 2003, 2007 and 2011.

After the Saskatchewan Party formed government in 2007, Donna served as the Minister of Social Services and Saskatchewan Housing Corporation. She has also served as the Minister of Education and the Provincial Secretary, Minister of Crown Investments, Minister responsible for SGI, Minister responsible for Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority, as well as serving on the province’s Treasury Board.

In 2014, she was appointed to serve Saskatchewan, for a second time, as Minster responsible for Social Services as well as Minister responsible for Saskatchewan Housing Corporation and the Status of Women.

Harpauer is proud of the Saskatchewan Party government’s record, and feels that Premier Brad Wall is an exceptional leader. Donna is looking forward to the continued growth under his leadership.

“It is exciting times in the province of Saskatchewan and under the leadership of Premier Brad Wall, our province has become the province 'to be' rather than the province 'to be from'. I am proud to be on Brad Wall's Saskatchewan Party team.”

With Harpauer’s nomination as the candidate for Humboldt-Watrous, the Saskatchewan Party has nominated 34 candidates for the next provincial election.
