Eric Schmalz Acclaimed as 2024 Saskatchewan Party Candidate for Saskatchewan Rivers July 05, 2023

PRINCE ALBERT, SK – Tonight, Eric Schmalz was acclaimed as the Saskatchewan Party nominated candidate for Saskatchewan Rivers in the 2024 provincial election.

“It’s an honour to have the support of the members in this great constituency,” Schmalz said. “I am excited to join the Saskatchewan Party team and start speaking with voters about our plan to grow the province.”

Since 2019, Schmalz has served as Reeve for the RM of Prince Albert.

“I believe that Saskatchewan people should be able to live and prosper anywhere they choose in our amazing province,” Schmalz said. “If elected to be the next MLA, I will represent the constituency to the fullest and bring this philosophy to the government table.”

Before entering politics, Schmalz served 13 years as a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. In 2016, he joined his family’s business and obtained training as an auctioneer. In 2019, Schmalz was elected Reeve for the RM of Prince Albert in a by-election, and subsequently re-elected in the fall of 2020.

Schmalz resides near Prince Albert with his wife and their two children.

With Schmalz’s nomination, the Saskatchewan Party has now nominated 6 candidates for the 2024 provincial election.
