Last Sunday we hosted the 6th annual Premier's Golf Ball Charity Event.

Proceeds this year from the event went to SOFIA House here in Regina.  SOFIA House is a second stage housing facility that provides safe housing and support for families trying to escape violent homes. Through their on-site counselling services and housing capabilities the embody the meaning of SOFIA: Support Of Families In Affliction.

We picked this charity to support this year because we lost a dear friend of ours to domestic violence last summer.  

Lisa Strang was the Director of Finance for the Sask Party for over 10 years.  Anyone who had the opportunity to work with Lisa knows how amazing, thoughtful, caring and kind she genuinely was.  Her loss is still felt deeply for us. 

I am pleased to say though, that this year we were able to raise over $40,000 for SOFIA House as well as help bring awareness to this often silent problem.
