Melfort, SK – Todd Goudy was acclaimed by local Saskatchewan Party members to be the party’s candidate for Melfort in the upcoming 2020 provincial election. Goudy was first elected as the MLA for Melfort in a by-election in March of 2018.
“It’s a great feeling tonight to receive the nomination. What a privilege to be representing the SaskParty for our constituency again! We have a great crew, and I am going to enjoy being a part of this team as we prepare for the next provincial election.”
Before running in Melfort, Goudy was very active in the Melfort community, where he served as the Pastor at Melfort’s Baptist Church. He was also a Trustee on the North East School Division, served as a chaplain for the RCMP, and worked as part of the Health Advocacy Committee that was responsible for bringing the new Wellness Centre to Melfort.
“We have great strength in the many communities and RMs that make up our constituency,” Goudy said. “Regardless of whether people live in town or on the farm, people in this constituency know that Premier Scott Moe and the Saskatchewan Party will do their best to support them and their families.”
Goudy and his wife, Tannis, have six children and live in Melfort.
With this nomination, the Saskatchewan Party has nominated 33 candidates for the 2020 provincial election.
The next nomination meeting will be held in the constituency of Saskatoon Riversdale on April 3, 2019.
