James Thorsteinson Acclaimed as 2024 Saskatchewan Party Candidate for Cut Knife-Turtleford
March 11, 2024MAIDSTONE, SK – Tonight, James Thorsteinson was acclaimed as the Saskatchewan Party nominated candidate for Cut Knife-Turtleford in the 2024 provincial election.
“I really appreciate all the support from the people of Cut Knife-Turtleford,” Thorsteinson said. “It's an honour, and I vow to be a strong voice for you in the Legislature.”
As a third-generation rancher, Thorsteinson has spent most of his life working in the Ag sector, as well as some contract work in the oilfield.
Having been a long time 4H member, Thorsteinson enjoys giving back to the program by volunteering as a judge at local Achievement Days and Public Speaking events. A strong advocate for mental health, he served on the Board of the Libbie Young Center in Lloydminster, which provides housing, programming, and education for people struggling with their mental health.
Thorsteinson served as the Saskatchewan Party President from 2014-2023.
Thorsteinson resides on his cattle ranch north of Maidstone. He and his wife, Lana have three sons and two future daughters in law.
With Thorsteinson’s nomination, the Saskatchewan Party has now nominated 40 candidates ahead of the 2024 provincial election.
