Jim Lemaigre Wins Contested Nomination in Athabasca

REGINA, SK – Last night, Jim Lemaigre was selected by local Saskatchewan Party members as the Saskatchewan Party’s candidate for the Athabasca by-election.
“I want to thank the Athabasca members for supporting me to run in the upcoming by-election,” said Lemaigre. “I’m looking forward to the challenge and I will be working hard to win this seat for the Saskatchewan Party.”
Lemaigre highlighted that his career in public safety, and serving his community, will be a strong background to start his by-election campaign with the Saskatchewan Party.
“I have been fortunate to have worked in many communities across northern Saskatchewan during my career,” said Lemaigre. “I am excited to join Premier Scott Moe and the Saskatchewan Party to continue the important work that our team has done in Athabasca.”
Jim Lemaigre is a proud member of Clearwater River Dene Nation, and speaks Dene fluently. He is a retired member of the RCMP, and currently serves as a program manager for the First Nations and Indigenous Policing Program. Jim and his wife Wendy have two children, and two grandchildren. Jim and his family enjoy spending time outdoors and look forward to serving north west Saskatchewan.
