Laura Ross Acclaimed as 2024 Saskatchewan Party Candidate for Regina Rochdale
February 15, 2024REGINA, SK – Tonight, Laura Ross was acclaimed as the Saskatchewan Party nominated candidate for Regina Rochdale in the 2024 provincial election.
“I look forward to being able to represent the constituents of Regina Rochdale in the next election,” Ross said. “I’m excited to continue the work and build on the growth we’ve seen in our province, city and constituency.”
First elected MLA for Regina Qu'Appelle Valley in the 2007 provincial election, Ross was re-elected in 2011, 2016 and 2020.
Ross currently serves as Minister of Parks, Culture and Sport and Minister responsible for the Status of Women. Prior to this, she served as Minister of Government Services as well as Legislative Secretary to the Minister of Health. Ross has also been a member of the Intergovernmental Affairs and Justice Committee as well as the Provincial Capital Commission.
Before entering provincial politics, Ross was a licensed realtor in Regina for over twenty years, specializing in residential properties. She has also operated her own catering company and farmed with her husband.
Ross is a founding member of the Saskatchewan chapter of Equal Voice which serves encourage and mentor young women interested in professional and political lives. Ross was also instrumental in the development of Regina's first Habitat for HumanityWomen's Build project in 2011. She also sat on the Habitat for Humanity Mountie House committee.
Ross resides in Regina with her husband Terry. They have one son.
The Saskatchewan Party has now nominated 38 candidates ahead of the 2024 provincial election.
