Jim Lemaigre Acclaimed as 2024 Saskatchewan Party Candidate for Athabasca December 13, 2023

PINEHOUSE, SK – Tonight, Jim Lemaigre was acclaimed as the Saskatchewan Party nominated candidate for Athabasca in the 2024 provincial election.

“I am humbled by the support I’ve received during my time as MLA for Athabasca,” Lemaigre said. “It’s an honour to represent you in our Legislature, and I will continue working hard to earn your support in the next election.”

Lemaigre was elected MLA for Athabasca during a byelection in 2022. He currently serves as Legislative Secretary to the Minister of Government Relations as well as the Legislative Secretary responsible for Mental Health and Addictions to the Minister of Mental Health and Addictions, Seniors, and Rural and Remote Health. He is also a member of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts.

Before becoming an MLA, Lemaigre served as an RCMP officer in several Saskatchewan communities. He was also program manager for the First Nations and Indigenous Policing Program through the Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety.

Lemaigre is a proud member of Clearwater River Dene Nation and speaks Dene fluently.

With Lemaigre’s nomination the Saskatchewan Party has now nominated 33 candidates ahead of the 2024 election.
