Nadine Wilson to Run Again in Saskatchewan Rivers
April 25, 2014Prince Albert— MLA Nadine Wilson will be nominated tonight as the Saskatchewan Party candidate in Saskatchewan Rivers for the next provincial election.
“I enjoy working with the constituents of Saskatchewan Rivers,” Wilson said. “It gives me great satisfaction to see the growth in our province and how our government is able to help the community I live in as well as all of Saskatchewan.”
Wilson was first elected as the MLA for Saskatchewan Rivers in the 2007 provincial election and was re-elected in 2011.
In 2009, Premier Wall appointed her as Legislative Secretary to the Minister Responsible for Immigration - New Citizen Initiative. After the 2011 provincial election, Wilson was appointed Chair of the Legislature’s Standing Committee on Private Bills. She also serves as Chair of the Private Bills House Committee, Deputy Caucus Chair and a member of the Caucus Management Committee, the Standing Committee on Human Services and the Caucus Policy Committee on Human Services.
Wilson is also a member of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association and Pacific Northwest Economic Region.
Wilson is very proud of the growth that can be seen in her constituency.
“In August 2013 our government announced the proclamation of Great Blue Heron Provincial Park,” Wilson said. “It is Saskatchewan’s 35th provincial park and the first new one to open in almost 20 years. It is the result of a promise made in the 2007 election.”
“I am also proud of the reopening of the sawmill near Big River,” Wilson said. “It has brought the region renewed economic activity and subsequently a better quality of life for the residents of Saskatchewan Rivers.”
Wilson enjoys being part of the Saskatchewan Party team.
“I’m very honoured and humbled by the support my constituents have given me and I would love to continue serving and working hard on their behalf,” Wilson said. “I’d also like to thank my constituency executive for the loyalty and support that they have given me. I am very appreciative of my entire team.”
With Wilson’s nomination as the candidate for Saskatchewan Rivers, the Saskatchewan Party has nominated 13 candidates for the next provincial election.
