Nevin Markwart Acclaimed as Saskatchewan Party Candidate for Regina Walsh Acres Byelection June 05, 2023

REGINA, Saskatchewan – Tonight, Nevin Markwart was acclaimed as the Saskatchewan Party’s candidate for Regina Walsh Acres in the upcoming provincial byelection.

“I am very grateful and excited for the opportunity to serve the community I grew up in,” Markwart said. “I look forward to meeting with the great people of Regina Walsh Acres on their doorsteps this summer, and will be working hard to earn their vote.”

Markwart is ready to work alongside Premier Scott Moe and the Saskatchewan Party team leading up to the byelection.

“I believe in Saskatchewan and its important place in the world going forward,” Markwart said. “Scott Moe and the Saskatchewan Party have a strong plan to grow our economy, manage our finances and create more opportunities for people throughout our province.”

Growing up in Regina, Markwart pursued his hockey career at a young age, playing in the WHL with the Regina Pats. In 1983, he was drafted by the Boston Bruins and played for 9-years in the NHL. After retiring from hockey, Markwart went on to earn an MBA in Finance in 1994 and worked in the global investments management industry for over 25 years. In 2019, he completed a Master of Science degree in Cybersecurity. Markwart is currently the Chief Information Security Officer with FutureVault, a cloud-based document management company. He lives in Regina with his partner Erin.

Markwart represents the second of three Saskatchewan Party candidates to have been selected for upcoming byelections.
