Paul Merriman Acclaimed as 2024 Saskatchewan Party Candidate for Saskatoon Silverspring November 03, 2023

SASKATOON, SK  – Tonight, Paul Merriman was acclaimed as the Saskatchewan Party candidate for Saskatoon Silverspring in the 2024 provincial election.

“I’m incredibly honoured to be representing the Saskatoon Silverspring constituency” Merriman said. “I’m excited to be part of the Saskatchewan Party team, and I will be working hard to represent our constituents in the Legislature.”

Merriman was first elected to the Saskatchewan legislature in 2011, and re-elected in 2016 and 2020. He currently serves as Minister of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety. He has previously served as Minister of Health, Minister of Social Services, Government House Leader, and Government Whip. 

Before entering politics, Merriman was the executive director of the Saskatoon Food Bank and Learning Centre. He was also employed by SaskEnergy for eight years, setting up a province-wide salvage operation of used material. He has also owned and operated two small businesses.

Merriman and his wife, Leane Durand, have four children.

With Merriman’s nomination, the Saskatchewan Party has now nominated 28 candidates for the 2024 provincial election.
