Riaz Ahmad Wins Contested Nomination for Regina Coronation Park Byelection May 27, 2023

REGINA, Saskatchewan – Today, Saskatchewan Party members in Regina Coronation Park nominated Riaz Ahmad to be their candidate in the constituency’s upcoming byelection. Ahmad defeated two other candidates to claim the nomination.

“It is an honour of a lifetime,” Ahmad said. “I look forward to working with the great people of Coronation Park as their candidate, and hopefully next MLA.”

Ahmad is excited to be representing the Saskatchewan Party under the leadership of Premier Scott Moe.

“Premier Moe and the Saskatchewan Party listen and deliver to the people of our province,” Ahmad said. “If elected to be an MLA, I hope to be a strong bridge between our constituency and government.”

Born in Pakistan, Ahmad immigrated to Regina in 2013. Before coming to Canada, he studied Accounting Management at the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan. He currently works with his brother at their family-owned pest control business. Ahmad lives with his wife and their 4 children in Coronation Park.

Ahmad’s nomination marks the first of three Saskatchewan Party candidates to have been selected for upcoming byelections.
