Saskatchewan is leading Canada again

June 14, 2025

This week, we’ve got another update on wildfires. Plus, more great news on Saskatchewan’s strong economy. Read all about it in our week-in-review!

Wildfire Update

We are continuing to do everything we can to support those affected by the wildfires. Here’s your latest wildfire update as of June 12.

Supports for evacuees are available via the Canadian Red Cross (1-800-863-6582) or SPSA Emergency & Community Support (1-855-559-5502 via Sask Evac App).

Saskatchewan Builds

Saskatchewan isn’t just growing, we’re building like never before.

Building permits are up 31.5% year-over-year. #1 in Canada while most of the country saw a drop.

Residential permits? Up 69.1%. Also #1. More homes being built means better housing affordability.

We’re seeing a new and significant wave of momentum in our province.

People are choosing Saskatchewan and our industries are rising up to meet the demand at record rates.

Making it Easier to Access Health Care

Big news for health care in Saskatchewan!

We’re making it easier for you and your family to see a health care provider when you need one.

Starting now, Nurse Practitioners (NPs) can apply to offer primary care, things like checkups, prescriptions, and managing common health issues.

Delivering Addictions Treatment

This week, Mental Health and Addictions Minister Lori Carr was in Saskatoon to open 17 new adult addictions treatment spaces at The Carter House and 40 new mobile withdrawal management treatment spaces.

These new spaces are part of our government’s commitment to creating 500 new addictions treatment spaces.

The 2025-26 Provincial Budget delivers a record $623 million in mental health and addiction supports and services.

Saskatchewan is leading Canada again

Saskatchewan Party Finance Minister Jim Reiter was rated the best finance minister in Canada by the Canadian Taxpayers Federation!

Saskatchewan received high marks for our balanced budget, low debt, and tax relief measures from our last budget.

We will always fight to make Saskatchewan the best place to work, live, and raise a family!
