Saskatchewan Party Releases Election Platform

October 12, 2024

“Our Plan for a Strong Economy and a Bright Future” to be mailed to every household

Premier Scott Moe today released the Saskatchewan Party’s full platform, called “Our Plan for a Strong Economy and a Bright Future.”

The platform outlines the Saskatchewan Party’s record and commitments in government, as well as the new commitments it has made over the first two weeks of the election campaign, including:

  • Reducing income tax for everyone, saving a family of four $3400 and a senior couple $3100 over four years;
  • Creating a new Home Renovation Tax Credit;
  • Increasing the First-Time Homebuyers Tax Credit;
  • Increasing the Graduate Retention Program, saving post-secondary grads up to $24,000 if they stay and work in Saskatchewan after graduation;
  • Doubling the Active Families Benefit to help with the cost of children’s sports, arts and cultural activities;
  • Increasing the Personal Care Home Benefit for seniors;
  • Increasing tax credits for persons with disabilities and their caregivers;
  • Extending glucose monitoring coverage for diabetes to seniors and young adults age 25 and under;
  • Strengthening laws and increasing the number of police officers to make communities and neighbourhoods safer;
  • Introducing a new self-screening program for HPV/cervical cancer;
  • Assisting with the cost of fertility treatments; and
  • Keeping the small business tax at one per cent.

“A key focus of our 2024 election platform is making life more affordable for Saskatchewan people,” Moe said.   “A re-elected Saskatchewan Party government will continue to reduce taxes and make life more affordable for students, for seniors, for homeowners, for families and for everyone in Saskatchewan.”

The Saskatchewan Party platform is fully costed, adding about $1.2 billion of tax reductions and spending commitments over five years.   It will see the provincial budget balanced by 2027-28.

The full Saskatchewan Party platform document can be found here: www.saskparty.com/ourplan.   Moe said a summary of the Saskatchewan Party platform will be sent to every Saskatchewan household in the coming days.

“There is a clear choice in this election: a choice between the Saskatchewan Party’s record and plan for a strong economy and a growing province, and the NDP’s failed record of decline, loss and closures,” Moe said.

“On October 28th, we are asking Saskatchewan voters to choose a strong economy and a bright future for our province.”
