Scott Moe Seeks Second Term in Rosthern-Shellbrook

May 02, 2014

Shellbrook— MLA Scott Moe will run for a second term after his nomination Saturday night as the Saskatchewan Party candidate in Rosthern-Shellbrook for the next provincial election.

“I want to thank the constituents of Rosthern-Shellbrook for their support,” Moe said. “I will continue to work hard to ensure that I may have the opportunity represent them in the Legislature again after the next election.”

Moe was first elected to the Saskatchewan Legislature in the 2011 provincial election.

Moe is a member of the Crowns and Central Agencies Standing Committee and Caucus Policy Committee and a member of the Caucus Management Committee. In May 2012, Premier Brad Wall appointed him as Deputy Chair of Public Accounts - the legislative committee that reviews all government spending. Moe is currently the Legislative Secretary to the Minister of Agriculture for Agricultural Value-Added and Agri-Business.

Moe was educated at the University of Saskatchewan where he received his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture degree. He is active in the community through his work with the Economic Development Corporation, the Shellbrook and District Health Services Project Inc., and the Shellbrook and District Physician Recruitment Committee. He has also volunteered his time to work with local hockey and softball associations.

Moe is happy with the way the government is supporting a growing agriculture industry.

“Our government has provided $371.6 million in the 2014-15 Agriculture budget to support farmers in Saskatchewan,” Moe said. “The agriculture industry is so important in Saskatchewan and our government is making sure they can stay on the path of steady growth and record production levels.”

Moe is excited to be part of the team that is moving Saskatchewan forward.

“I am so pleased to be able to represent the constituents of Rosthern-Shellbrook at the provincial level,” Moe said. “The leadership provided by the Premier and caucus is invaluable to me and I look forward to getting more done in the coming years.”

With Moe’s nomination as the candidate for Rosthern-Shellbrook, the Saskatchewan Party has nominated 19 candidates for the next provincial election.
