Bronwyn Eyre Acclaimed as Saskatchewan Party Candidate for the Constituency of Saskatoon Stonebridge-Dakota for 2020 Provincial Election

Saskatoon, SK – Last night, Bronwyn Eyre was acclaimed as the Saskatchewan Party Candidate for the Constituency of Saskatoon Stonebridge-Dakota for the next provincial election, expected in 2020.

“I’m looking forward to the upcoming election and continuing to represent this dynamic, diverse, rural-urban constituency.” Eyre said. “Thank you to everyone for their support.”

Eyre was first elected in the 2016 provincial election and has served in various cabinet roles, including as Minister of Education, Minister of Advanced Education, and Minister responsible for the Status of Women.

On February 2, 2018, Eyre was appointed Minister of Energy and Resources and Minister responsible for SaskEnergy and SaskWater by Premier Scott Moe.

“The city of Saskatoon has benefited from over a decade of growth since our party formed government in 2007.” Eyre said. “We’ve seen an increase in the number nurses, teachers, and doctors to accommodate a growing population. Throughout the province we’ve built 40 new schools and provided major renovations to another 25 in the past 10 years, with 2 more new builds currently underway. Soon we will see the opening of the new Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital, which will serve families across our province.”

Eyre lives in her constituency in Saskatoon. A former public school board trustee, broadcaster and journalist, she graduated from the University of Saskatchewan (BA, LLB) and speaks French, German, and Italian.

With this nomination, the Saskatchewan Party has nominated three candidates for the 2020 provincial election.

The next nomination meeting will be held in the constituency of Estevan on October 4.
