Doug Steele Acclaimed as the Saskatchewan Party Candidate for Cypress Hills December 11, 2018

Gull Lake, SK – Doug Steele was acclaimed as the Saskatchewan Party Candidate for the constituency of Cypress Hills for the 2020 provincial election.

“First, thank you to the great people that live in the Cypress Hills constituency and to the Saskatchewan Party members that have supported me,” said Steele. “It’s an honour to represent and serve this part of Saskatchewan.”

Elected in the 2016 election, Steele currently serves as the Legislative Secretary to the Minister of Energy and Resources.

“Significant improvements have been made in the Cypress Hills constituency since our government was first elected in the 2007 election. Improvements to highways, a number of new doctors working in the constituency, and a brand-new Integrated Healthcare Facility in Leader,” said Steele. “The resource sector is also an important part of the Cypress Hills constituency, and while we face economic headwinds with added challenges from the federal government I am optimistic for the future of the resource industry and the hard-working women and men that we will continue to stand up for.”

Steele and his wife Phyllis own and operate a fourth-generation family farm in the Cypress Hills constituency.  

With this nomination, the Saskatchewan Party has nominated a total of 16 candidates for the next provincial election.

The next nomination meeting will be held in the constituency of Canora-Pelly on December 13, 2018.
