Warren Michelson Wins Contested Nomination in Moose Jaw North

Moose Jaw— With nearly 700 voting members in attendance, MLA Warren Michelson won a contested nomination last night to become the Saskatchewan Party candidate in Moose Jaw North for the next provincial election.

Michelson was elected to the Saskatchewan Legislature in the 2007 provincial election.

“I’m excited to have another opportunity to represent the citizens of Moose Jaw North as their Saskatchewan Party candidate,” Michelson said. “I will continue to work hard on their behalf.”

Among many initiatives brought forth by the Saskatchewan Party government, Michelson is particularly proud about the commitment to building a new hospital in the city of Moose Jaw.

“I am particularly proud to have led the charge for improvements in health facilities with a new hospital being constructed in Moose Jaw,” Michelson said. “This new state of the art hospital will better serve Moose Jaw citizens and the Five Hills Health Region.”

Michelson currently serves as the Chair of the legislature’s Standing Committee on Intergovernmental Affairs and Justice and was a member of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts. His responsibilities include co-chairing the Saskatchewan Construction Panel, which is comprised of professional organizations and government representatives with a mandate of supporting a stable and healthy Saskatchewan construction industry.

“Our province is experiencing a time of growth and prosperity. As such, it is vitally important to ensure that our construction industry is able to meet the demands of a growing economy. Through our commitment to the Saskatchewan Construction Panel, we have been able to support these demands.”

Michelson says he is proud to be a member of the Saskatchewan Party team, led by Premier Brad Wall.

“Under the leadership Premier Brad Wall, our Saskatchewan Party government has become a leader of the nation, with longstanding benefits to all of our citizens,” Michelson said. “Premier Brad Wall has been an inspiration to the entire province.”

With Michelson’s nomination for Moose Jaw North, the Saskatchewan Party has now passed the halfway point in the nomination process with 31 of 61 nominated candidates for the next provincial election.
