Colleen Young Acclaimed as 2024 Saskatchewan Party Candidate for Lloydminster November 30, 2023

PARADISE HILLS, SK – Colleen Young has been acclaimed as the Saskatchewan Party nominated candidate for Lloydminster in the 2024 provincial election.

“I’d like to thank everyone across the constituency who purchased a membership and supported me in the months leading up to tonight’s nomination,” Young said. “I am humbled by the trust and confidence my constituents have put in me to advocate and work on their behalf. I’m excited to stand before you as your candidate and look forward to the election next year.”

Young was first elected MLA for Lloydminster in a 2014 by-election and was re-elected in the 2016 and 2020 Provincial General Elections.

She currently serves as chair of the Standing Committee on the Economy, and is a member of the Red Tape Reductions Committee, Government Operations Committee, the House Committee on Privileges, the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Committee, and is a Steering Committee member of the Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians Association for Saskatchewan.

Before entering politics, Young was a trustee of the Lloydminster Public School Division Board of Education for 20 years. She served as board chair for 16 of those years. On a local level, Young has been involved with the Kiwanis Club, Learning Council, In Motion, Young Life, school community councils, and many other volunteer positions.

Young and her husband Kim have called Lloydminster home for nearly 40 years. They have eight adult children and 13 grandchildren. 

With Young’s nomination, the Saskatchewan Party has now nominated 31 candidates in advance of the 2024 election.
